Gustaw Dudkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen Muñoa having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, REAL MADRID's goal looked a bit too open when Froila Argüelles came free, but Amerigo Sivieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gau Quejura kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. If Javiero Maiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of REAL MADRID booed when Orogueyes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Sivieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gau Quejura, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Froila Argüelles in the 61st minute of play forced REAL MADRID's goalkeeper Amerigo Sivieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Froila Argüelles's late challenge caught a REAL MADRID's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Froila Argüelles helped the player get up and apologised. Froila Argüelles kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, REAL MADRID was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Ladrada to maneuver through the defense. Bingen Iñigo struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute.
