The supporters of Mitare FC booed when Concejo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zernin Canales didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Mitare FC's Isidoro Jugo in action when he in the 5th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 9 minutes into the game, Mario Elias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Concejo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mitare FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Concejo FC's Mario Elias got a free kick in the 9th minute. After 10 minutes of play Concejo FC's Mario Elias was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Isidoro Jugo, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Edwardo Lugardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edwardo Lugardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Armando Montaño made a huge save. Armando Montaño made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Edwardo Lugardo sent off a good shot on target. Nardo Posada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Montel Valdenebro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, Lopez Archibeque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, Mauricio Gallega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Montel Valdenebro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edwardo Lugardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Mauricio Gallega made the kick off in the second half. Armando Montaño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matro Jurado in the 53rd minute of play. If Mauricio Gallega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Mitare FC's Mauricio Gallega slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nardo Posada. That made the score 0-1 after 65 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mauricio Gallega in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nardo Posada saved Concejo FC from getting behind. Armando Montaño showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwardo Lugardo in the 72nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Concejo FC defense, Mauricio Gallega kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nardo Posada. The Concejo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nardo Posada should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Edwardo Lugardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Montaño was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Mitare FC's Dalmu Parral got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mitare FC's Mauricio Gallega got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dalmu Parral kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. If Edwardo Lugardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 97 minutes into the match, Concejo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Gallega came free, but Nardo Posada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Mitare FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Concejo FC throughout the match.
