Copaya's Abilio Cortina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Copaya from getting a goal against them. Koldo Gabriel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Polentzi Fonte's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. After some careless play in the Manglecito defense, Quintyn Neira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Koldo Gabriel. The Manglecito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Koldo Gabriel should have stopped the shot. Jose-Antonio Garavito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abilio Cortina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Manglecito's Koldo Gabriel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Polentzi Fonte in the 25th minute of play.
