Honrio Jaraba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guanapa. Palban Corniero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Palban Corniero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honrio Jaraba having to interfere. In the 33rd minute of the match Bartolo Caravajal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Honrio Jaraba skillfully saved the ball. If Canor Enciso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Nicanor Berzosa put in a rough tackle. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Guanapa! Umbruso Matuta had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Bernaldo Cerezo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Guanapa's Argenis Aranguren got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Argenis Aranguren was the one to do the kick off. Umbruso Matuta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frechoso Goya, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Oinatz Hontoria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Umbruso Matuta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Argenis Aranguren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guanapa's Umbruso Matuta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Canor Enciso in the 86th minute of play. Frechoso Goya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Umbruso Matuta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Argenis Aranguren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luepa's Honrio Jaraba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Truylos Bebian in the 95th minute of play. Umbruso Matuta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oinatz Hontoria, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Luepa fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guanapa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
