The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Viator Traves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Astor Mareide had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rosario Urdaneta. Charaima FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Astor Mareide was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 19th minute Astor Mareide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosario Urdaneta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosario Urdaneta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Mareide in the 20th minute of play. Dalmai Yepes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Capitillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes, Jacobo Norzagaray mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Charallave FC and the Charaima FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Charallave FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Jacobo Norzagaray hit a great ball. Dalmai Yepes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Naike Luis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Naike Luis made a kick off. Jacobo Norzagaray hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Charallave FC's zone, Dalmai Yepes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tome Alen came out of the goal and Dalmai Yepes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Astor Mareide charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Astor Mareide the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Charallave FC's Astor Mareide got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Naike Luis in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tome Alen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 66 minutes into the match, Charallave FC's goal looked a bit too open when Naike Luis came free, but Tome Alen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dalmai Yepes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tome Alen having to interfere. Charaima FC's Rosario Urdaneta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Capitillo in the 73rd minute of play. Astor Mareide might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rosario Urdaneta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Astor Mareide ran back to his position shaking his head. Rosario Urdaneta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Astor Mareide's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. A collision led to Charallave FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Denis Isazi hit a great ball. Fernado Carretero kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Capitillo in the 89th minute of play forced Charaima FC's goalkeeper Rosario Urdaneta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rosario Urdaneta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Capitillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Marcos Capitillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Rosario Urdaneta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charaima FC's Rosario Urdaneta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Astor Mareide in the 95th minute of play. Rosario Urdaneta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Capitillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Charallave FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
