But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gamus Rios couldn't finish the play. 8 minutes into the match, Doni Alcântara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Estavan Sanches. Aracua's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doni Alcântara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugenio Nebot in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roland Toledo saved Marincito FC from getting behind. With a little luck, Marincito FC's Roland Toledo got control of the ball when Eugenio Nebot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cordarius Cardiel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 19th minute, Doni Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Cordarius Cardiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Estavan Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cordarius Cardiel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Estavan Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 32 in the game by Gamus Rios from a close distance when the talented Roland Toledo managed to make a qualified save. Marincito FC's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Marincito FC's Mundo Morlote got a free kick in the 34th minute. With an all-out effort, Aracua's Roland Toledo threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eugenio Nebot, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gamus Rios could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Roland Toledo made a huge save. 46 minutes into the game, Gamus Rios cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Roland Toledo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugenio Nebot was the one to do the kick off. 2-1 became the score in the 54th minute when Eugenio Nebot elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Eugenio Nebot struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Roland Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aracua. Marincito FC's Roland Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gamus Rios in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Aracua's zone, Cordarius Cardiel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Estavan Sanches came out of the goal and Cordarius Cardiel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marincito FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
