Buscatera's Theodore Portanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Garces in the 4th minute of play. Theodore Portanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Nebot in the 5th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Freddy Aberasturi sped through Aracua's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Estavan Sanches. Theodore Portanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugenio Nebot's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Eugenio Nebot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theodore Portanares having to interfere. Eugenio Nebot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Theodore Portanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Buscatera got a freekick which was hit by Yoel Baeza. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Nebot in the 25th minute of play forced Buscatera's goalkeeper Theodore Portanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gamus Rios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ezequiel Fabregas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Estavan Sanches read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Buscatera's Freddy Aberasturi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Estavan Sanches narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel Fabregas got free with Estavan Sanches in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Freddy Aberasturi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Estavan Sanches stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Freddy Aberasturi's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. If Ezequiel Fabregas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ezequiel Fabregas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Estavan Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Buscatera booed when Aracua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Garces didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buscatera's Ezequiel Fabregas got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Aracua's goalkeeper Estavan Sanches, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Freddy Aberasturi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Estavan Sanches having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Alberto Garces fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Buscatera fans cheered their team off the field, for while Aracua had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
