With an all-out effort, Cojoro FC's Lico Munguira threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Quin Nuevo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Jaunzuria Lamarta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patiecito's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaunzuria Lamarta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ponce Llano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 16 played minutes Patiecito got a freekick which was hit by Bermund Matallana. Lico Munguira made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Teofilo Granja sent off a good shot on target. Patiecito's Osvaldo Bayas got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute of the match Simon Vergara shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ponce Llano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Jaunzuria Lamarta sped through Cojoro FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ponce Llano. Osvaldo Bayas succeeded in the game's 31st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Frasco Ciencabrero hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Reynardo Ceceil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Lico Munguira managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Cojoro FC's Teofilo Granja fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 45th minute, Quin Nuevo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cojoro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Osvaldo Bayas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ponce Llano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Bayas in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Patiecito getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jaunzuria Lamarta hit a great ball. The Cojoro FC fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Cojoro FC's Teofilo Granja looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cojoro FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Osvaldo Bayas 72 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-3.
