In the 9th minute Luciano Armiaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximenez Arrugueta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pellas Alarcon succeeded in the game's 21st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Montel Quiles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pellas Alarcon in the 26th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, San Tome FC's Pellas Alarcon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Montel Quiles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Armiaga in the 39th minute of play forced San Tome FC's goalkeeper Ximenez Arrugueta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rozarius Hoyuela hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ximenez Arrugueta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Armiaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Orkatz Balaguer struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ximenez Arrugueta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Candelaria FC. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Montel Quiles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaur Nieva, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of San Tome FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Candelaria FC:s goal. After 71 played minutes San Tome FC got a freekick which was hit by Federico Sendeño. In the 73rd match minute, Candelaria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nemesio Garate to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute Pellas Alarcon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Montel Quiles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria FC's zone, Pellas Alarcon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Montel Quiles came out of the goal and Pellas Alarcon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute, Gaur Nieva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, San Tome FC's Pellas Alarcon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Montel Quiles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. San Tome FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
