Panfilo Ponce didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Bastia Iglesias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Galátic FC's Ofelio Ocharan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose-Antonio Cardarda in the 19th minute of play. When Loreto Incera fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zulia FC's protests and gave Loreto Incera a yellow card for diving instead. Matei Lebrija took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guilllermo Espiga. Zulia FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Truylos Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ofelio Ocharan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Galátic FC got a freekick which was hit by Ignazio Campesino. After 42 minutes of play, Galátic FC's Orlan Rodriguez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guilllermo Espiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 45 minutes, Sedeni Aldaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galátic FC and the Zulia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Gabirel Ameztoy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galátic FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabirel Ameztoy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guilllermo Espiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Galátic FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 59th minute Truylos Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ofelio Ocharan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guilllermo Espiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabirel Ameztoy in the 64th minute of the match. Orlan Rodriguez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Guilllermo Espiga made a huge save. Ofelio Ocharan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose-Antonio Cardarda in the 72nd minute of play. After 74th play minutes Truylos Arruda shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Ofelio Ocharan and just under the crossbar into goal. Guilllermo Espiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabirel Ameztoy in the 78th minute of play. Zulia FC's Felo Rivacoba got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Felo Rivacoba off the ground. In the 81st minute, one of Zulia FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zulia FC. Orlan Rodriguez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Guilllermo Espiga firmly grabbed it by the left post. Bastia Iglesias's late challenge caught a Galátic FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bastia Iglesias helped the player get up and apologised. When Galátic FC's Gabirel Ameztoy in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zulia FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ofelio Ocharan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Truylos Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabirel Ameztoy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Guilllermo Espiga. That made the score 1-3 in the 98 minute of play. Galátic FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
