Gartxot Pamanes's late challenge caught a Barinas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gartxot Pamanes helped the player get up and apologised. Marcelo Vilas charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Vilas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcelo Vilas kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Fernando Lacueva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Hurko Argüello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Caraballeda's Luzea Urrea got a free kick in the 44th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

If Llorienzo Vime had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustacio Benitez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Llorienzo Vime showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 68 minute of play. After 71 played minutes Barinas got a freekick which was hit by Tadeo Chapa. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Llorienzo Vime put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Eustacio Benitez. Eustacio Benitez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Llorienzo Vime in the 78th minute. A collision led to Caraballeda getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Tadeo Chapa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustacio Benitez having to interfere. Eustacio Benitez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Llorienzo Vime's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. After a rather tough play, Caraballeda's Angelo Aldaeta got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Barinas's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
