Diagur Vime's late challenge caught a Pilancon FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diagur Vime helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, Estefan Campderros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tanio Castaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Estefan Campderros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Gurutz Casaponsa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Estefan Campderros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gurutz Casaponsa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tanio Castaño in the 20th minute of the match. If Estefan Campderros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liberto Arnaez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan-Alfredo Morelle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Tadzio Belluga charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadzio Belluga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Real Salt Lake booed when Pilancon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadzio Belluga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liberto Arnaez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Liberto Arnaez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Pilancon FC's zone, Arotza Viveros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan-Alfredo Morelle came out of the goal and Arotza Viveros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vito Roson's late challenge caught a Real Salt Lake's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vito Roson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pilancon FC's Vito Roson got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Juan-Alfredo Morelle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Liberto Arnaez in the 43rd minute. Tanio Castaño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gurutz Casaponsa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The wind increased when Estefan Campderros made the kick off in the second half. Liberto Arnaez took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan-Alfredo Morelle. Juan-Alfredo Morelle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 58 minutes into the match, Real Salt Lake's Arotza Viveros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan-Alfredo Morelle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arotza Viveros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan-Alfredo Morelle having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tanio Castaño got free with Gurutz Casaponsa in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Tanio Castaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Liberto Arnaez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan-Alfredo Morelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Real Salt Lake's Liberto Arnaez in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Real Salt Lake's Gurutz Casaponsa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Estefan Campderros in the 91st minute of play. Estefan Campderros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gurutz Casaponsa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Real Salt Lake fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pilancon FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
