Spectators: 6020 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 20) Murendi FC's Percy Coelho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gara Chan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Espejo, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. With a little luck, Universidad Caracas's Nastasio Fontanez got control of the ball when Bieito Ronquillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Xorxe Escola came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Universidad Caracas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xorxe Escola couldn't finish the play. Gara Chan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gomez Sarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chago Calero kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Murendi FC's Gara Chan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Espejo in the 17th minute of play. In the 21st minute of the match, Beto Mangueira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nastasio Fontanez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Caetano Espejo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Gara Chan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Murendi FC booed when Universidad Caracas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Locaio Fombona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bieito Ronquillo struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Nastasio Fontanez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murendi FC. 33 minutes into the game, Gomez Sarra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gara Chan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Murendi FC's Merexildo Iturralde got a free kick in the 35th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After some careless play in the Murendi FC defense, Chago Calero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gara Chan. The Murendi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gara Chan should have stopped the shot. Nastasio Fontanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 65 minutes into the game, when Luciano Sasiain put in a rough tackle. The goalkeeper, Gara Chan, was totally fooled by Universidad Caracas's Gomez Sarra, who 66 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Bieito Ronquillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Niguel Zurica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gara Chan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gomez Sarra in the 84th minute of play. Chago Calero came free with the goalkeeper in the 85th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gara Chan could save by the left post. Nastasio Fontanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bieito Ronquillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute Bieito Ronquillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nastasio Fontanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Universidad Caracas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
