The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roldan Velastegui during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th minute, Roldan Velastegui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Chichiriviche Deportivo getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Roldan Velastegui hit a great ball. In the 11th minute Ermano Echeverria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nastasio Fontanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Chago Calero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erubiel Carcedo during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Universidad Caracas booed when Chichiriviche Deportivo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Carcedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gomez Sarra did an outstanding performance 17 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-0 to the right of an irritated Hondo Toledano in the goal. Eguntsenti Moral kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Chichiriviche Deportivo's Roldan Velastegui nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nastasio Fontanez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 27 minutes into the game, Gomez Sarra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Universidad Caracas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chichiriviche Deportivo the free kick. Gomez Sarra kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes, Chichiriviche Deportivo's Xayvion Carabajal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nastasio Fontanez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chichiriviche Deportivo reached it. Hondo Toledano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chago Calero in the 30th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Universidad Caracas's goal looked a bit too open when Lluterio Barrueta came free, but Nastasio Fontanez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Caetano Espejo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nastasio Fontanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roldan Velastegui in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Roldan Velastegui notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Universidad Caracas's Nastasio Fontanez. Nastasio Fontanez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 46 minutes into the match, Universidad Caracas's goal looked a bit too open when Lluterio Barrueta came free, but Nastasio Fontanez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute Ermano Echeverria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nastasio Fontanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gomez Sarra made the kick off in the second half. Erubiel Carcedo kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Hondo Toledano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gomez Sarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Chago Calero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 59 minutes of play Chichiriviche Deportivo's Zuri Iribarne was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Chichiriviche Deportivo getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Zuri Iribarne hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the game, Ermano Echeverria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nastasio Fontanez. Ermano Echeverria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Roldan Velastegui received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nastasio Fontanez came out and tried to block the shot, but Roldan Velastegui slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 66th minute. The audience was convinced that Roldan Velastegui's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nastasio Fontanez was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Gomez Sarra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nastasio Fontanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roldan Velastegui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chichiriviche Deportivo's Hondo Toledano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chago Calero in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Chichiriviche Deportivo's Nacho Larquera ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nastasio Fontanez. Nastasio Fontanez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. In the 82nd minute, Chichiriviche Deportivo's Ermano Echeverria dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. 85 minutes into the match, Nazario Dragana dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nastasio Fontanez, 1-7. Nastasio Fontanez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nacho Larquera in the 92nd minute. Nastasio Fontanez came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Chichiriviche Deportivo's Nacho Larquera. But to his dismay, Nacho Larquera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-8. Chichiriviche Deportivo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
