After a rather tough play, Nationaler FC's Ricardo Roelas got a free kick in the 19th minute. Belmiro Rebustillo struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Patricio Saz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nationaler FC. After a defensive mix-up in La Salle S.C.'s zone, Belmiro Rebustillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patricio Saz came out of the goal and Belmiro Rebustillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deunoro Cabañas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iratzeder Betanzos in the 32nd minute of the match. Pepe Gota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Saz having to interfere. Deunoro Cabañas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiso Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nationaler FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! The referee gave La Salle S.C. a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Iratzeder Betanzos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Nationaler FC's Deunoro Cabañas. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roman Cotrofe during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 55 minutes into the match, Nationaler FC's Belmiro Rebustillo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Benino Achueta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nationaler FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benino Achueta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patricio Saz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Iratzeder Betanzos took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Deunoro Cabañas to make any attempt to save it. Gau Valderrama blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patricio Saz having to make a save. Belmiro Rebustillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nationaler FC made a substitution. Misael Carmona replaced Renato Lizano. Deunoro Cabañas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iratzeder Betanzos in the 77th minute. Deunoro Cabañas had in the 79thth minute some difficulties stopping Iratzeder Betanzos's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball In the 79th minute, La Salle S.C.'s Iratzeder Betanzos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Deunoro Cabañas. Deunoro Cabañas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Belmiro Rebustillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Patricio Saz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
