Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cedro Cerdan to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, TUCANES FC's Santiago Villarprego got a free kick in the 52nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roger Amestoy in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Cabalar saved TUCANES FC from getting behind. Valentin Oseguera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cedro Cerdan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute of the match, Santiago Villarprego tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valentin Oseguera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Arturo Urizar fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Universidad de Oriente's protests and gave Arturo Urizar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Arturo Urizar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. TUCANES FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Villarprego was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elizardo Beyso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 98 played minutes Universidad de Oriente got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Iranzo. There was no doubt that Universidad de Oriente were the better team. Universidad de Oriente's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
