Isaio Silio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavierlada Arrillaga in the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, Bonifacio Ludueña was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Tachira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zulia FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Tachira's Bonifacio Ludueña got a free kick in the 12th minute. Deportivo Tachira's Bonifacio Ludueña got his second yellow card of the match in the 13th minute. The referee ordered Bonifacio Ludueña off the ground. Gavino Colunga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isaio Silio having to make a save. Oihenarte Tomas hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Tachira's Silverio Alguerdo got a free kick in the 25th minute. Zulia FC's Zorion Cepeda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Zulia FC from getting a goal against them. Urbes Beitia might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zorion Cepeda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Urbes Beitia ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Zulia FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Josias Tocalanza hit a great ball. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zulia FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Xosepe Juarrero was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Tachira's players had a chance to rest. Oihenarte Tomas was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Deportivo Tachira's Isaio Silio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavierlada Arrillaga in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Urbes Beitia was the one to do the kick off. Zorion Cepeda came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Tachira's Urbes Beitia. But to his dismay, Urbes Beitia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Zulia FC's zone, Urbes Beitia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zorion Cepeda came out of the goal and Urbes Beitia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Isaio Silio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavierlada Arrillaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The supporters of Zulia FC booed when Deportivo Tachira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urbes Beitia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Deportivo Tachira's goalkeeper Isaio Silio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vicente Machuca. Isaio Silio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xavierlada Arrillaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renaldo Trueba in the 74th minute of play forced Deportivo Tachira's goalkeeper Isaio Silio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josias Tocalanza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Isaio Silio made a huge save. Zorion Cepeda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbes Beitia in the 80th minute of play. Nardo Giraldez hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Xavierlada Arrillaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zulia FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
