The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Melquiades Ruimonte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliu Iñiguez went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Melquiades Ruimonte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gotzon Bulnes in the 9th minute of play. Magallanes CF's Melquiades Ruimonte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gotzon Bulnes in the 10th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Gotzon Bulnes made a precise shot to the right of Melquiades Ruimonte. Magallanes CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Gotzon Bulnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Melquiades Ruimonte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melquiades Ruimonte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gotzon Bulnes in the 18th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Delmar Pascual in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abelardo Graus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the game, Eliu Iñiguez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Melquiades Ruimonte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th minute, Abdelhani Laura Douibi made a precise shot to the right of Melquiades Ruimonte. Magallanes CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 30th minute, Batista Dominguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Barinitas booed when Magallanes CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xaiver Bureu didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Barinitas's Gotzon Bulnes in action when he in the 33rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 34th minute Gotzon Bulnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Ruimonte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Barinitas's Eliu Iñiguez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Melquiades Ruimonte made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. 38 minutes into the match, Abdelhani Laura Douibi notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Magallanes CF's Melquiades Ruimonte. Melquiades Ruimonte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caio Soliz in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melquiades Ruimonte saved Magallanes CF from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Delmar Pascual was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Barinitas's Vasco Quintano got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Melquiades Ruimonte was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vasco Quintano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 59 minute of play. After 63 minutes, Eliu Iñiguez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barinitas and the Magallanes CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eliu Iñiguez kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Melquiades Ruimonte was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Abdelhani Laura Douibi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-9 in the 66 minute of play. Abelardo Graus came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Magallanes CF's Batista Dominguez. But to his dismay, Batista Dominguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-9. Caio Soliz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Melquiades Ruimonte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melquiades Ruimonte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gotzon Bulnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Melquiades Ruimonte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 78 minutes into the match, Magallanes CF's goal looked a bit too open when Gotzon Bulnes came free, but Melquiades Ruimonte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Abdelhani Laura Douibi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Melquiades Ruimonte was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-10. With his leg Melquiades Ruimonte managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Barinitas's Abdelhani Laura Douibi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 89 minutes into the match, Magallanes CF's goalkeeper Melquiades Ruimonte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vasco Quintano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gotzon Bulnes in the 91st minute of play forced Magallanes CF's goalkeeper Melquiades Ruimonte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 95 minutes, Loi Burguete mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barinitas and the Magallanes CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Barinitas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Loi Burguete to maneuver through the defense. When Ezkerra Villagra came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Magallanes CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezkerra Villagra couldn't finish the play. The Magallanes CF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barinitas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
