Spectators: 8034 (Terracing: 6372, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 162) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Salvador Tabliega started the match with the kick off. Delmar Pascual sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edson Sendeño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Melquiades Ruimonte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Oihenarte Tomas came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Deportivo Tachira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oihenarte Tomas couldn't finish the play. Melquiades Ruimonte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Tabliega in the 11th minute of play. Magallanes CF's Melquiades Ruimonte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Tabliega in the 13th minute of play. Isaio Silio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Batista Dominguez in the 19th minute of play. Silverio Alguerdo took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Melquiades Ruimonte. Melquiades Ruimonte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 24 minutes into the game, Xosepe Juarrero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Tachira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Magallanes CF the free kick. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Tachira's Xosepe Juarrero got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Bonifacio Ludueña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Isaio Silio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 28th minute Oihenarte Tomas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Ruimonte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 played minutes Magallanes CF got a freekick which was hit by Lluterio Quesada. If Oihenarte Tomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Tachira's Isaio Silio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Tachira from getting a goal against them. After 35 minutes of play, Deportivo Tachira's Urbes Beitia made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Melquiades Ruimonte was left in no man's land by his defense there! Melquiades Ruimonte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbes Beitia in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Salvador Tabliega made a precise shot to the right of Melquiades Ruimonte. Magallanes CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The throw-in from Ezkerra Villagra in the 44th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Deportivo Tachira's Nardo Giraldez. Melquiades Ruimonte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urbes Beitia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute Edson Sendeño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Ruimonte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Silverio Alguerdo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute of the match, Urbes Beitia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Melquiades Ruimonte saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Magallanes CF's zone, Urbes Beitia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Ruimonte came out of the goal and Urbes Beitia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Urbes Beitia took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Melquiades Ruimonte to make any attempt to save it. Urbes Beitia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Melquiades Ruimonte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaizki Paiz charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaizki Paiz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Magallanes CF's Jaizki Paiz got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Oihenarte Tomas struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Melquiades Ruimonte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Tachira. Melquiades Ruimonte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbes Beitia in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to Magallanes CF getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Jaizki Paiz hit a great ball. Oihenarte Tomas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Melquiades Ruimonte having to make a save. If Urbes Beitia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Urbes Beitia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Tachira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. When the match was over Deportivo Tachira could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Magallanes CF throughout the match.
