After 4 minutes of play, East Cleveland AFC's Arthur Bocanegra made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Aviles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Harden hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Connor Merritt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jay Wilkins having to interfere. Marvin Marrero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Harden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Arthur Bocanegra came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the East Cleveland AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur Bocanegra couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Bocanegra in the 20th minute of play forced Roscoe's goalkeeper Aaron Aviles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roscoe's Aaron Aviles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathan Ventura in the 28th minute of play. Connor Merritt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jay Wilkins having to interfere. Jay Wilkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marvin Marrero's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Roscoe's Domenic Cano got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jay Wilkins. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nathan Ventura to make the kick off. Nathan Ventura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aaron Aviles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Roscoe's Daron Hooper got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Aaron Aviles was a little too slow when Nathan Ventura got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-2. Arthur Bocanegra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Aaron Aviles made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Connor Merritt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marvin Marrero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roscoe's Aaron Aviles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Roscoe from getting a goal against them. When Ricky Norton fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Roscoe's protests and gave Ricky Norton a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of East Cleveland AFC booed when Roscoe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricky Norton didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 86 minutes, Benito Harden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Cleveland AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benito Harden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Nathan Ventura took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Aaron Aviles to make any attempt to save it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched East Cleveland AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
