Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gregorio Gomez took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stuart Crum in the 3rd minute of play forced Astoria's goalkeeper Danny Wiggins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Danny Wiggins successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Derrick Lucero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrian Horner went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Pine Island's zone, Zachariah Corona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derrick Lucero came out of the goal and Zachariah Corona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Derrick Lucero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Horner in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, one of Astoria:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Astoria. The goalkeeper, Danny Wiggins, was totally fooled by Pine Island's Bruce Walls, who 20 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Royce Nunez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Royce Nunez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rosario Harman kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes in the game, Reyes Dickens fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Danny Wiggins having to interfere. After 34 minutes of play, Astoria's Royce Nunez made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Derrick Lucero was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute Royce Nunez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derrick Lucero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danny Wiggins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rosario Harman hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Royce Nunez to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Royce Nunez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astoria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Royce Nunez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Pine Island's Derrick Lucero got control of the ball when Royce Nunez tried to sneak it across the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Astoria's Enoch Booth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Derrick Lucero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Reyes Dickens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danny Wiggins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorio Gomez in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Gregorio Gomez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danny Wiggins was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Derrick Lucero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosario Harman, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. With his leg Derrick Lucero managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Astoria's Royce Nunez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Gomez in the 70th minute of play forced Astoria's goalkeeper Danny Wiggins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregorio Gomez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Wiggins having to interfere. The supporters of Pine Island booed when Astoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosario Harman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Royce Nunez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astoria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Royce Nunez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Pine Island's Adolfo Santiago got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 78th match minute, Astoria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Royce Nunez to maneuver through the defense. Danny Wiggins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reyes Dickens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Danny Wiggins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregorio Gomez, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Pine Island's Reyes Dickens got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95thth minute of the game Reyes Dickens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Astoria's Danny Wiggins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
