The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chase Weir made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jamal Leon in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute of the game Vince Everett made a throw-in which Abe Herndon played forward. Jamal Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chase Weir having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Jamal Leon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Chase Weir, 1-0. If Jamal Leon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Hillsville AF booed when Dry Run AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilbert Carrier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Jamal Leon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chase Weir was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Zackary Pierson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Chase Weir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Hillsville AF's Jamal Leon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Chase Weir. Chase Weir yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. If Guillermo Bauman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guillermo Bauman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chase Weir having to interfere. A collision led to Dry Run AFC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Marquis Hamm hit a great ball. Chase Weir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamal Leon in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Dry Run AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Sweeney to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marquis Hamm stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guillermo Bauman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Hillsville AF booed when Dry Run AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Sweeney didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Jamal Leon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chase Weir was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josiah Zavala during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Chase Weir didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jamal Leon went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Chase Weir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamal Leon in the 63rd minute of play. Jamal Leon scored 6-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chase Weir, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Byron Burns kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Jamal Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chase Weir having to interfere. Chase Weir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamal Leon in the 80th minute of the match. Hillsville AF's Shayne Tinsley got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 83 minutes of play, Hillsville AF's Jamal Leon made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chase Weir was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jamal Leon took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chase Weir. Chase Weir dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-1. In the 91st minute Jamal Leon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chase Weir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Jamal Leon made a precise shot to the right of Chase Weir. Dry Run AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-1. Hillsville AF walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
