Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Lawrence Merrill made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to Zapata FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Sol Vincent hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the match, Vine Grove's Walker Louis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 12 minutes into the game, Lawrence Merrill cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Brock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute, Darell Shockley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zapata FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Dave Forbes scored 2-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Brock, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Zapata FC booed when Vine Grove was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Elliot didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Von Fleming stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Von Fleming had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lawrence Merrill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Julio Brock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Von Fleming took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Moses Elias to make any attempt to save it. Dave Forbes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darell Shockley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Moses Elias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Darell Shockley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lawrence Merrill struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Julio Brock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vine Grove. Darell Shockley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vine Grove fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zapata FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
