After 13 minutes, Murray Ferrell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MRFC and the Central Gardens AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, MRFC's Murray Ferrell got a free kick in the 13th minute. If Theodore Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theodore Marin in the 21st minute of play forced Central Gardens AFC's goalkeeper Winfred Akins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Theodore Marin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winfred Akins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Central Gardens AFC's Colby Ray seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Colby Ray the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Central Gardens AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Colby Ray had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 25 minutes into the game, one of Central Gardens AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Jeramy Harmon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aurelio McGuire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, MRFC's Theodore Marin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Winfred Akins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. MRFC's Jeramy Harmon got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Jeramy Harmon made a precise shot to the right of Winfred Akins. Central Gardens AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Theodore Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Central Gardens AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cyrus Sullivan to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Central Gardens AFC's goalkeeper Winfred Akins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When MRFC's Theodore Marin in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 65th minute Jeramy Harmon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winfred Akins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeramy Harmon took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Winfred Akins. Winfred Akins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 80 minutes into the game, Oren Stein was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Central Gardens AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MRFC the free kick. Winfred Akins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Theodore Marin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Theodore Marin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Winfred Akins having to interfere. The MRFC fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when MRFC's Jeramy Harmon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Winfred Akins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeramy Harmon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Theodore Marin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Winfred Akins having to interfere. Stacey Villalobos hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
