Otis Horn had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Calvin Nelson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a rather tough play, Burney's Duane Epps got a free kick in the 5th minute. German Melvin struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Otis Horn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Simsbury. German Melvin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute of the match Keith Lake shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Shawn Espinosa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Burney's goalkeeper Otis Horn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damien Jaramillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If German Melvin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damien Jaramillo in the 55th minute of play forced Burney's goalkeeper Otis Horn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that German Melvin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Otis Horn was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Renato Begay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otis Horn having to interfere. Duane Epps hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Burney's zone, Damien Jaramillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otis Horn came out of the goal and Damien Jaramillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Scot Clement managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burney's supporters rose to their feet, but Scot Clement was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shawn Espinosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Burney getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Arthur Locke hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Melvin in the 83rd minute of play forced Burney's goalkeeper Otis Horn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otis Horn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Melvin in the 85th minute of play. Damien Jaramillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otis Horn having to interfere. Damien Jaramillo scored 3-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otis Horn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Simsbury's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
