The referee felt a red card was in order, 9 minutes into the game, when Richard Tobin put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Spring Lake Heights:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galaxy FC:s goal. Denis Thompson went to the wrong direction when Fred Delgado was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 13th minute, Galaxy FC's Fred Delgado seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fred Delgado the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Galaxy FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fred Delgado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 12th minute, one of Galaxy FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galaxy FC. When the match had been going on for 15 minutes, Spring Lake Heights's Walter Bradshaw got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Kristopher Edmondson. Lorenzo Tuttle took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denis Thompson. Denis Thompson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Lorenzo Tuttle put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Denis Thompson. 29 minutes into the match, Spring Lake Heights's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenzo Tuttle came free, but Denis Thompson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Galaxy FC's goalkeeper Kristopher Edmondson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Tuttle in the 35th minute of play forced Spring Lake Heights's goalkeeper Denis Thompson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Todd Fraser got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Denis Thompson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Tuttle in the 39th minute of play forced Spring Lake Heights's goalkeeper Denis Thompson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antony Buddle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Denis Thompson having to make a save. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Warner Platt sped through Spring Lake Heights's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Denis Thompson. If Lorenzo Tuttle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Warner Platt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galaxy FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Warner Platt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denis Thompson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Galaxy FC's Lorenzo Tuttle in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 62 minutes, Jake Goodson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spring Lake Heights's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jake Goodson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute, Gabriel Blake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71stth minute of the game Lorenzo Tuttle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spring Lake Heights's Denis Thompson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Warner Platt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denis Thompson was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Jim Root received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Denis Thompson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denis Thompson had great luck who in the 78thth minute grab hold of the ball when Lorenzo Tuttle from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. If Lorenzo Tuttle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Galaxy FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
