Allen Kauffman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ervin Hart having to make a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

If Rubin Thorne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Nederland FC's goal looked a bit too open when Waylon Tucker came free, but Edgar Barnhart reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boardman FC's Alfred Driver got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfred Driver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Sidney Nickerson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ervin Hart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allen Kauffman in the 85th minute of the match. Rubin Thorne was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 89th minute. Nederland FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Boardman FC's Ervin Hart played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allen Kauffman in the 90th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Allen Kauffman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ervin Hart was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Ervin Hart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allen Kauffman in the 95th minute of play. The Nederland FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nederland FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
