Denny Lugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Johnnie Saldana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mohammed Cegielski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Porter Bowden read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Porter Bowden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timmy Howe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Mohammed Cegielski made the kick off in the second half. If Timmy Howe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Denny Lugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Denny Lugo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Johnnie Saldana having to make a save. Timmy Howe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mohammed Cegielski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Porter Bowden having to interfere. Marvin Good hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Monte Eddy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coal Valley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Monte Eddy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnnie Saldana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Coal Valley FC's Kris Robison got a free kick in the 77th minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Monte Eddy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
