Wilber Helton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Emanuel Spivey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chris Reagan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Casey Lemons went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. DeMarcus Byers kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, New Jersey Lions FC's Johnnie Albert shot a high long ball. West Point's goalkeeper was lucky when the ball hit the right post and out. West Point's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Johnnie Albert scored to the left of an out of position Emanuel Spivey, making the score, 1-1. Chris Reagan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamal Mejia, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Gary Elmore struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Emanuel Spivey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Jersey Lions FC. Chris Reagan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamal Mejia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chris Reagan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamal Mejia in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Gary Elmore got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shelton Valenzuela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bradley Page blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emanuel Spivey having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shelton Valenzuela in the 52nd minute of play forced West Point's goalkeeper Emanuel Spivey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 52 minutes into the game, New Jersey Lions FC's Shelton Valenzuela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emanuel Spivey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. If Shelton Valenzuela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. New Jersey Lions FC's Gary Elmore got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 93 minutes of play, New Jersey Lions FC's Terence Sears made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuel Spivey was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. New Jersey Lions FC fully deserved thier win.
