Dalton Guerrero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek King in the 4th minute of play. Norman Land sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rolf Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norman Land received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Dalton Guerrero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Winford Scruggs came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Bethel Acres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Winford Scruggs couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Huber Ridge AFC's Rolf Ryan got a free kick in the 24th minute. A collision led to Huber Ridge AFC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Terrence English hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Huber Ridge AFC's zone, Jamel Holzer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gordon Alford came out of the goal and Jamel Holzer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jamel Holzer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Alford having to interfere. Norman Land fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalton Guerrero having to interfere. Dalton Guerrero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norman Land's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Derek King was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Derek King got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 58 minutes, Rolf Ryan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huber Ridge AFC and the Bethel Acres players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rolf Ryan hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Bethel Acres's Dalton Guerrero got control of the ball when Norman Land tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gordon Alford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Winford Scruggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Winford Scruggs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gordon Alford. Huber Ridge AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Winford Scruggs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Dalton Guerrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Norman Land in the 70th minute. Gordon Alford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmitt Tilley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bethel Acres's Dalton Guerrero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Bethel Acres from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Bethel Acres's zone, Norman Land stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalton Guerrero came out of the goal and Norman Land tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tyler Pagan during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bethel Acres getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Tyler Pagan hit a great ball. With a little luck, Bethel Acres's Dalton Guerrero got control of the ball when Norman Land tried to sneak it across the goal line. Norman Land made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 84thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Dalton Guerrero would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jamel Holzer in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gordon Alford saved Huber Ridge AFC from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Huber Ridge AFC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
