Huber Ridge AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Huber Ridge AFC's Len Jarrell tried to score from far away in the 9th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Norman Land sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matthew Jernigan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek King, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Derek King had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derek King received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Matthew Jernigan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Huber Ridge AFC defense, Von Lugo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gordon Alford. The Huber Ridge AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gordon Alford should have stopped the shot. After 32 minutes, Geoff Cooper mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pepper Pike and the Huber Ridge AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Huber Ridge AFC booed when Pepper Pike was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoff Cooper didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pepper Pike's goalkeeper Matthew Jernigan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Matthew Jernigan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Land in the 37th minute of play. If Derek King had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norman Land might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matthew Jernigan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Norman Land ran back to his position shaking his head. When Norman Land came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Huber Ridge AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Land couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Derek King managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huber Ridge AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Derek King was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthew Jernigan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Von Lugo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Huber Ridge AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Alexander Dillard hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roger Kauffman in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gordon Alford saved Huber Ridge AFC from getting behind. Rolf Ryan kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. A collision led to Pepper Pike getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Donnie Swenson hit a great ball. Matthew Jernigan was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Derek King capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Derek King really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Matthew Jernigan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Norman Land in the 75th minute. Matthew Jernigan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Derek King's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Derek King fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Matthew Jernigan, passed just outside the right post. 80 minutes into the match, Pepper Pike's goalkeeper Matthew Jernigan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norman Land. Norman Land could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Matthew Jernigan made a huge save. Matthew Jernigan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derek King in the 85th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Von Lugo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gordon Alford. Huber Ridge AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Von Lugo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 90 minutes into the game, Huber Ridge AFC's Norman Land nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthew Jernigan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Matthew Jernigan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek King in the 94th minute of play. A collision led to Pepper Pike getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Scot Keane hit a great ball. Huber Ridge AFC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
