An unexpectedly hard shot by Van Padilla in the 3rd minute of play forced TheFALK's goalkeeper Michael Curry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Pottsville AFC's Hugh Rangel in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye TheFALK's goalie prevented a goal. A sloppy throw-in by Scott Crowell in the 12th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Pottsville AFC's Don Sampson. Van Padilla struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Michael Curry didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pottsville AFC. 15 minutes into the match, Pottsville AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Claude Rhoades came free, but Benedict Stinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pottsville AFC's Perry Medley got a free kick in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Van Padilla in the 23rd minute of play forced TheFALK's goalkeeper Michael Curry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Don Sampson charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Don Sampson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Don Sampson hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Benedict Stinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claude Rhoades, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michael Curry stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emerson Christensen's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. If Van Padilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Curry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugh Rangel in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Claude Rhoades made a precise shot to the right of Benedict Stinson. Pottsville AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Michael Curry showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Sampson, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute, Josh McCabe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claude Rhoades was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Brandon Waldron shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benedict Stinson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Van Padilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emerson Christensen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Hugh Rangel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michael Curry was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Van Padilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 67thth minute of the game Hugh Rangel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TheFALK's Michael Curry was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emerson Christensen might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Curry. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emerson Christensen ran back to his position shaking his head. Michael Curry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Rangel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Scott Crowell made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Claude Rhoades. TheFALK's Michael Curry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugh Rangel in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute, Scott Crowell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Michael Curry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Rangel in the 90th minute of the match. Hugh Rangel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Michael Curry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Don Sampson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
