The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sung Woodard hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Winston Driver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Windham FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Winston Driver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Randell Allen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Winston Driver took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Randell Allen. Randell Allen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 38 minutes into the match, Encinitas's goal looked a bit too open when Winston Driver came free, but Randell Allen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nigel McManus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolland Cote in the 45th minute. Randell Allen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Winston Driver in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Winston Driver made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Winston Driver got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 57 minutes, Ramon Calloway managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Windham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramon Calloway was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Odell Cermak charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Odell Cermak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a little luck, Encinitas's Randell Allen got control of the ball when Homer Napier tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Jamar Keys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Randell Allen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Winston Driver in the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Windham FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Lyons came free, but Nigel McManus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Randell Allen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Winston Driver's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Ramon Calloway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Randell Allen having to interfere. Randell Allen made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Ramon Calloway sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Windham FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Encinitas throughout the match.
