Aldo Temple could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Maurice Rudd made a huge save. Rigoberto Chapman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brady Hough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brady Hough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rigoberto Chapman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bowling Green FC's goalkeeper Rigoberto Chapman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Kory Welch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brady Hough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Brady Hough made the kick off in the second half. Maurice Rudd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Temple in the 53rd minute of play. Rigoberto Chapman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kory Welch in the 61st minute. In the 67th minute, Hondo AFC's Kory Welch dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Danny Herndon's late challenge caught a Hondo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danny Herndon helped the player get up and apologised. When Darrell Mueller came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Hondo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darrell Mueller couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the match, Bowling Green FC's Aldo Temple sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maurice Rudd narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Stefan Ratliff came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Bowling Green FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Ratliff couldn't finish the play.
