Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) Wilford Smart started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Wayne FC's zone, Hector Harrington stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thurman Sheehan came out of the goal and Hector Harrington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Dedham AFC's Chad LeBlanc got a free kick in the 7th minute. Wally Lawler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ari Harrison in the 11th minute. Wally Lawler made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Ari Harrison sent off a good shot on target. When Wayne FC's Wilford Smart in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dedham AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute, Chad LeBlanc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Wayne FC's Ari Harrison got a free kick in the 21st minute. Wally Lawler came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Wayne FC's Ari Harrison. But to his dismay, Ari Harrison quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 33rd minute, Hector Harrington got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Dedham AFC's Brady Chavez got a free kick in the 36th minute. Wally Lawler was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mario Mathews. Wayne FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mario Mathews in the 38th minute. Wayne FC's Mario Mathews was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wally Lawler in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lane Claytons short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Wally Lawler to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sung Gillespie in the 44th minute of play forced Wayne FC's goalkeeper Thurman Sheehan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Dedham AFC booed when Wayne FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Tanner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thurman Sheehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brady Chavez in the 49th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Harrington stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Wayne FC's zone, Sung Gillespie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thurman Sheehan came out of the goal and Sung Gillespie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wayne FC's Ari Harrison got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brady Chavez during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ari Harrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wally Lawler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilford Smart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute Wilford Smart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wally Lawler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ari Harrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Wally Lawler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dedham AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
