An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonzo Drummond in the 6th minute of play forced Atlantic Beach's goalkeeper Travis Huntley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Chivas USA's Biagio Scoca slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Travis Huntley. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Glenn Corey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Travis Huntley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Biagio Scoca in the 18th minute. Bryant Pacheco hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Jermaine Gutierrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlantic Beach's supporters rose to their feet, but Jermaine Gutierrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 39th minute, Biagio Scoca sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Atlantic Beach's Travis Huntley didn't even have to move. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Biagio Scoca in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Travis Huntley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute Alfonzo Drummond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Travis Huntley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Atlantic Beach's Travis Huntley got control of the ball when Biagio Scoca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

52 minutes into the match, Atlantic Beach's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonzo Drummond came free, but Travis Huntley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Travis Huntley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrad Hull, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After 55 played minutes Atlantic Beach got a freekick which was hit by Quentin Gabriel. After some careless play in the Atlantic Beach defense, Alfonzo Drummond kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Travis Huntley. The Atlantic Beach fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Travis Huntley should have stopped the shot. Vincenzo Allen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Atlantic Beach's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfonzo Drummond was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0.
