Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Mazatlán CF's Art Peoples got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Mazatlán CF defense, Federico Platt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sean Munoz. The Mazatlán CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sean Munoz should have stopped the shot. Art Peoples received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Olin Shelton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Diego Munson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olin Shelton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chase Chacon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sean Munoz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Sandy Overton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olin Shelton made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Art Peoples sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Sandy Overton made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Art Peoples who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barnhart's Olin Shelton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 54th minute of the match Darrell Peachey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olin Shelton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Art Peoples in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olin Shelton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olin Shelton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Art Peoples, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 73rd minute, one of Mazatlán CF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mazatlán CF. In the 78th minute, Federico Platt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Denis Shaw in the 86th minute really tested Sean Munoz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Sandy Overton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th play minute Chase Chacon came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sean Munoz. 0-4. After having played for 93 minutes, Chase Chacon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barnhart's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chase Chacon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 98th minute of the match Jose Lynn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sean Munoz skillfully saved the ball. When Diego Munson came up free with the goalie in the 101st minute, the Mazatlán CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Munson couldn't finish the play.
