Carson's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some careless play in the Carson defense, Radoslaw Rosiewicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lamar Russo. The Carson fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lamar Russo should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Carson booed when Dennis Port was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Tripp didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Carson's Ed Holliday tried to score from far away in the 58th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Angel Celio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lamar Russo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Radoslaw Rosiewicz in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lamar Russo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
