In the 9th minute, Charlie McPherson made a precise shot to the right of Arturo Coppack. Xeneixe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When Donnie Lyons fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xeneixe's protests and gave Donnie Lyons a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charlie McPherson in the 20th minute of play forced Xeneixe's goalkeeper Arturo Coppack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Xeneixe's goalkeeper Arturo Coppack had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charlie McPherson. Bryant Brooks kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Chris Terry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venice Beach Bums's supporters rose to their feet, but Chris Terry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Coppack breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robby Weller didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fletcher Dickinson went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Rudolf Runberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Arturo Coppack made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Xeneixe's zone, Charlie McPherson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Coppack came out of the goal and Charlie McPherson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Coppack made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Charlie McPherson sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Charlie McPherson took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Arturo Coppack to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Xeneixe's Arturo Coppack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Fuentes in the 55th minute of play. In the 59th minute, one of Xeneixe:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Xeneixe. Arturo Coppack went to the wrong direction when Chris Terry was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 63 minutes into the game, Venice Beach Bums's Charlie McPherson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arturo Coppack made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Fletcher Dickinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arturo Coppack was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
