Miguel Parson hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Detroit Lakes's Miles Erwin got a free kick in the 5th minute. Claudinho Ferreira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wilson Langston. Detroit Lakes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Detroit Lakes's Wilson Langston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonzo Timmons in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Detroit Lakes's Loren Lane nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Derrick Bowers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Hapeville were furious when Fidel Min was red carded, 14 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Hapeville:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Detroit Lakes:s goal. The goalkeeper, Derrick Bowers, was totally fooled by Detroit Lakes's Lincoln McLean, who 16 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Len Beatty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Derrick Bowers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Derrick Bowers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Len Beatty, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Billy Kennedy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hapeville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Detroit Lakes the free kick. Billy Kennedy kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Lincoln McLean, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Detroit Lakes's Loren Lane slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Derrick Bowers. That made the score 3-0 after 32 minutes of play. Claudinho Ferreira took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Langston. Wilson Langston dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Derrick Bowers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Reid, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hapeville's Derrick Bowers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Len Beatty in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Detroit Lakes's Len Beatty ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Derrick Bowers. Derrick Bowers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. If Len Beatty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinho Ferreira to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Claudinho Ferreira got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Derrick Bowers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loren Lane, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Wilson Langston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Ferreira in the 56th minute of the match. Derrick Bowers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loren Lane in the 58th minute of play. Len Beatty's late challenge caught a Hapeville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Len Beatty helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Detroit Lakes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Len Beatty to maneuver through the defense. Tad Wall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Derrick Bowers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Len Beatty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Loren Lane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Derrick Bowers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute Detroit Lakes were awarded a corner. Lincoln McLean went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Miles Erwin heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Derrick Bowers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Len Beatty in the 73rd minute of play. Hapeville's Derrick Bowers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Len Beatty in the 81st minute of play. In the 84th match minute, Detroit Lakes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Reid to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes into the match, Hapeville's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Parson came free, but Derrick Bowers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Len Beatty in the 88th minute of play forced Hapeville's goalkeeper Derrick Bowers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Loren Lane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Derrick Bowers. Hapeville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loren Lane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Miguel Parson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derrick Bowers having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Detroit Lakes had played much better football throughout.
