The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isidro Ragsdale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gil in the 3rd minute of play. In the 9th match minute, Winona FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Morgan to maneuver through the defense. Carson Thorpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Braxton having to interfere. Isidro Ragsdale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gil, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Sault Ste. Marie's Francesco Kaplan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leif Braxton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, Jerome Roberts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Winona FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sault Ste. Marie the free kick. Jerome Roberts hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes, Winona FC's Denis Hare shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Isidro Ragsdale came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Winona FC reached it. A collision led to Sault Ste. Marie getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Diego Herman hit a great ball. If Francesco Kaplan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Oliver House got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the game, Oliver House cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Isidro Ragsdale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 44th minute, Oliver House ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isidro Ragsdale was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francesco Kaplan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leif Braxton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francesco Kaplan went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Oliver House had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 66 minutes, Rafael Gil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Winona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Gil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidro Ragsdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gil in the 69th minute of the match. If Oliver House had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Winona FC's Rafael Gil in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sault Ste. Winona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Gil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Isidro Ragsdale successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 84 minutes into the match, Winona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francesco Kaplan came free, but Leif Braxton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oliver House fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Ragsdale having to interfere. Leif Braxton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Kaplan in the 95th minute of play. Winona FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
