Walla Walla's Mckinley Christie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Ware in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lee Winter in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Austin Reyna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mckinley Christie made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Hector Dillon sent off a good shot on target. Dominique Montes charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dominique Montes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, Walla Walla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dominique Montes to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector Dillon got free with Mckinley Christie in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Austin Reyna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lee Winter in the 25th minute of play. Lee Winter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute Pierre Crabtree shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Austin Reyna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Walla Walla's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dylan Ham was slow to take the kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Ware couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Ware in the 71st minute of play forced Walla Walla's goalkeeper Mckinley Christie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mckinley Christie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Dillon in the 74th minute of play.
