Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ronny Long took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Josef Denton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute Stanley Skaggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Malone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th match minute, Fort Scott was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bobby Beckman to maneuver through the defense. Ronny Long was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Scott's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulysses Barnes in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Russ Malone prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Stanley Skaggs came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Fort Scott fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stanley Skaggs couldn't finish the play. In the 21st match minute, Fort Scott was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boyce Maldonado to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Santiago Keyes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Fort Scott's Noel Nguyen didn't even have to move. After 24 minutes, Diego Payne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fort Scott and the Scott players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Barnes in the 31st minute of play forced Scott's goalkeeper Russ Malone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Russ Malone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanley Skaggs in the 34th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Ronny Long fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Noel Nguyen, passed just outside the right post. Ronny Long was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a rather tough play, Fort Scott's Boyce Maldonado got a free kick in the 46th minute. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fort Scott's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Santiago Keyes was slow to take the kick. During this time Scott's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Scott's corner Santiago Keyes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Noel Nguyen quite easily take care of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Stanley Skaggs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Russ Malone made a huge save. Ronny Long received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Noel Nguyen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Fort Scott getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Diego Payne hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes, Scott's Santiago Keyes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Noel Nguyen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Scott reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanley Skaggs got free with Russ Malone in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Forrest Allison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Fort Scott players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Scott.
