In the 44th minute, Raymond Goodman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th minute of the match Alfonso Bledsoe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cary McPherson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Monty Beckman was the one to do the kick off. Dexter Savage in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cary McPherson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Monty Beckman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Waldo Meier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cary McPherson made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Ty Law sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of New Brunswick booed when Park Falls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joesph Goldstein didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Zack Lynn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ty Law had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Park Falls's Cary McPherson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dexter Savage in the 79th minute of play. Dexter Savage scored 0-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cary McPherson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Monty Beckman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
