Giuseppe Lundy was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Léo León had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giuseppe Lundy. ROGENE CITY FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Léo León was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Dinko Komsiyski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Columbus Crew SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinko Komsiyski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giuseppe Lundy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Giuseppe Lundy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Foster Savage in the 26th minute of play. Giuseppe Lundy came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Columbus Crew SC's Damien Park. But to his dismay, Damien Park quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. ROGENE CITY FC's Giuseppe Lundy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Léo León in the 32nd minute of play. After some careless play in the ROGENE CITY FC defense, Léo León kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giuseppe Lundy. The ROGENE CITY FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giuseppe Lundy should have stopped the shot. Giuseppe Lundy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damien Park, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Giuseppe Lundy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Foster Savage's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Damien Park might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giuseppe Lundy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damien Park ran back to his position shaking his head. 44 minutes into the match, Columbus Crew SC's goalkeeper Hank Felton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Terrell Layton. Léo León scored 0-6 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giuseppe Lundy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Foster Savage was the one to do the kick off. 61 minutes into the match, Columbus Crew SC's goal looked a bit too open when A.J. Chan came free, but Hank Felton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, ROGENE CITY FC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Lundy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damien Park.
