Abdul Geiger came out of the goal and Corey Burkhart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Athletic Club Hermosa's Brent Wiley got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 37th minute Corey Burkhart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdul Geiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Athletic Club Hermosa's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Pujols came free, but Abdul Geiger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brent Wiley was shown his second yellow card after 43 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wade Kuhn was the one to do the kick off. Baytown FC's Corey Burkhart got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Federico Hargrove received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Cobi Hahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Baytown FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Athletic Club Hermosa.
