Stanford Ashley charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Howard's Stanford Ashley got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Howard's goal looked a bit too open when Larry Reed came free, but Cliff Fox reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pete Roach came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Howard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pete Roach couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Howard getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Wilfred Pearson hit a great ball. Larry Reed received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Cliff Fox tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Larry Reed in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cliff Fox prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jefferson Khan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cliff Fox read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Enumclaw AFC's Terrence Gilliam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Enumclaw AFC from getting a goal against them. Cliff Fox took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Larry Reed, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jefferson Khan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cliff Fox having to interfere. Ferdinand Billings kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 44 minutes into the game, Shane Gutierrez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Enumclaw AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Howard the free kick. After 44 played minutes Enumclaw AFC got a freekick which was hit by Shane Gutierrez. An unexpected shot in the 47th minute by Pete Roach got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Stanford Ashley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Larry Reed stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Enumclaw AFC's Jefferson Khan got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Enumclaw AFC booed when Howard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. J.P. Cullen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by J.P. Cullen during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Howard getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. J.P. Cullen hit a great ball. Larry Reed sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jefferson Khan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 71stth minute, Cliff Fox skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cliff Fox had in the 85thth minute some difficulties stopping Wendell Payne's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Howard's Cliff Fox played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Larry Reed in the 94th minute of play. Stanford Ashley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Howard's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
