Morgan Kidd charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Morgan Kidd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ted Herrera went to the wrong direction when Jude Rooney was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Fullerton's Ted Herrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by DeAngelo Downs in the 19th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling DeAngelo Downs in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ted Herrera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Errol Locke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Anna's goal looked a bit too open when Errol Locke came free, but Houston Richmond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by DeAngelo Downs in the 30th minute of play forced Fullerton's goalkeeper Ted Herrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Wilfredo Lucero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fullerton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anna the free kick. After 34 played minutes Fullerton got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Lucero. Jude Rooney was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ted Herrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from DeAngelo Downs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Graham Grove received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ted Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. DeAngelo Downs was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joe Payne during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Anna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Payne to maneuver through the defense. After 60 minutes of play Fullerton's Wilfredo Lucero was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Anna booed when Fullerton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilfredo Lucero didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Graham Grove had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ted Herrera. Fullerton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Graham Grove was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 69 minutes, Devon Weeks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Anna and the Fullerton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Anna's Devon Weeks got a free kick in the 69th minute. Houston Richmond acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 70th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Morgan Kidd. When Graham Grove fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Anna's protests and gave Graham Grove a yellow card for diving instead. Graham Grove kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Timothy Gleason blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Houston Richmond having to make a save. DeAndre Bowden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Houston Richmond having to interfere. Timothy Gleason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Houston Richmond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Anna fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fullerton had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
