Spectators: 6729 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 0) De Land's Brendon Sprague started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jose Murray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merle Lopes having to interfere. Hal Eastman hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Jose Murray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnnie Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Tracey Purvis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Brendon Sprague kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Merle Lopes. That made the score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Jose Murray managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Land's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jose Murray was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Corning AFC's Porter McDonald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tracey Purvis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Porter McDonald was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Corning AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Murray came free, but Merle Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Porter McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by De Land's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Renaldo Cash was slow to take the kick. During this time Corning AFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Corning AFC's Renaldo Cash to fire away a dangerous shot which Tracey Purvis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Johnnie Rodrigues in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tracey Purvis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in De Land's zone, Johnnie Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tracey Purvis came out of the goal and Johnnie Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Porter McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ramiro Hernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiro Hernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ramiro Hernandez hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, De Land's Ronnie Corley broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jose Murray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merle Lopes having to interfere. If Brendon Sprague had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corning AFC's Merle Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brendon Sprague in the 83rd minute of play. Wiley Hedrick kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, De Land's goal looked a bit too open when Porter McDonald came free, but Tracey Purvis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. De Land had played much better football throughout.
