Spectators: 6725 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Orlando Burger started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Groton booed when Wickenburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bret Rutherford didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th of the match, Aidan Henry tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Brian Hankins got in the way and made a wonderful save. Orlando Burger took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rhett Schaffer. Rhett Schaffer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Brian Hankins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aidan Henry in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute of the match Johnathan Nesbitt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rhett Schaffer skillfully saved the ball. Weldon Mendez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aidan Henry succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Brian Hankins came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Groton's Edward Carson. But to his dismay, Edward Carson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Wickenburg's Brian Hankins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aidan Henry in the 45th minute of play. Cary Hunter was extremely unlucky when he, in the 47th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

54 minutes into the match, Aidan Henry had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brian Hankins. Wickenburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aidan Henry was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Edward Carson's late challenge caught a Wickenburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edward Carson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Groton getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Edward Carson hit a great ball. Weldon Mendez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rhett Schaffer having to interfere. Elijah Nance hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 69th match minute, Wickenburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Chase to maneuver through the defense. Michael Frey was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Brian Hankins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cary Hunter in the 72nd minute of the match. Reinaldo Chase kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Brian Hankins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cary Hunter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabian Boyle kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Brian Hankins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aidan Henry, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Brian Hankins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aidan Henry went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Wickenburg's Reinaldo Chase got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Groton's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
